The face of U.S. President Barack Obama's televised message to the Iranian people on the occasion of Eid Nowruz , which he said that there is an opportunity to reach an agreement on Tehran's nuclear program if Tehran has taken steps to confirm that the program is for peaceful purposes only , and reassure the West that its program has peaceful purposes only . At the same time , Obama issued a decree allowing U.S. universities to implement programs of academic exchange with Iranian universities .
Obama said in his message that Washington was committed to the diplomatic option , because he believed that there is ground to come up with what he described as a " practical solution " in this regard , but it is not delusional difficulty of the road.
The U.S. president stressed that Iran will retain - under the final agreement between the six countries - its ability to produce nuclear energy for peaceful purposes , and will see economic growth and lots of jobs .
The Reuters news agency said Obama's message aims to promote goodwill with the Iranian people and encourage them to welcome the nuclear deal .
